Georgian sterling silver teapot, hallmarked London 1795, in the reign of George III. The silversmith is Henry Chawner, one of the oldest English silversmith firms; established circa 1680 and in business until 2003.
Of a simple oval canister form with bands of Bright Cut engraving on the top and bottom of the pot, and on the lid, with the original wood handle and finial. Both sides of the teapot have a laurel wreath suitable for engraving.
6 1/2” (16.5cm) high, 10 7/8” (27.6cm) spout goes handle.
