Queen Anne Style Sterling Silver Octagonal Teapot Dated 1922

Product Details

Antique sterling silver teapot, fully hallmarked for Sheffield 1922.  The simple Queen Anne style octagonal shape has been a classic English staple for more than three centuries.  From the silversmiths Harrison Brothers & Howson (George Harrison) of Norfolk and Carver Streets, Sheffield, established in 1808. 

The teapot has an ebony handle and finial and is monogrammed in Script, likely “IMV”.

The teapot is further identified on the bottom by the retailer, Wilson & Gill, 139 Regent St., London.  Wilson & Gill were established in 1892 as goldsmiths and silversmiths.  The business exists today as Hester Clarke, under the ownership of the 5th generation of the Clarke family.
