*During the Second World War the Georg Jensen store in New York commissioned American silversmiths to produce Jensen designs to meet the demand for Danish Modernist silver. One of these companies was Frederick Lunning (GJ USA Inc).
Alphonse La Paglia (1907-1952), born in Sicily, studied silversmithing with Jensen in Denmark before the war. He emigrated to the US and worked for Lunning and independently from his workshop in New Jersey and Connecticut.
