Art Deco Sorau Porcelain Coffee Set circa 1930

Product Details

Art Deco Porcelain three piece coffee set, made by Sorau Carstens, Germany, circa 1930.  The whimsical shape is brightly decorated with orange and blue flowers, with gilded rims, finials and handles.

The company was established in Sorau Germany (present day Zary, Poland) by Gustav Otremba in 1888, as Gustav Otremba Porzellanfabrik.  Through various partnerships the company became known as Carstens Porzellanfabrik Sorau circa 1918/9 and was in production until being destroyed in WWII, in February of 1945.

The set is in good and usable condition.  There are two very minor chips, on the inside of the coffee pot lid and on the underneath of the base of the cream jug.

Wear consistent with age and use.

The coffee pot is 12” (30.5cm) high,

The creamer is 5” (12.7cm) high,

The covered sugar bowl is 5 1/2” (14cm) high.

$495 for the three piece set.
