Georgian Style Sterling Tea Set Sheffield 1930

Product Details

English sterling silver Georgian era style four piece tea set, fully hallmarked for Sheffield 1930.  From the silversmiths Jay, Richard Attenborough Co. Ltd of  Oxford Street, London.  Further identified on the bottom of three of the pieces (teapot, creamer and sugar bowl) “142 & 144 Oxford St. W” in an oval around “Jays”.  This was the company’s s retail address.  The company produced quality silver items and also sold antique silver, existing until 1958.

The classic late Georgian/Regency lines of this set are elegant, with all four pieces raised on bun feet.

The cream jug and sugar bowl have an interior gold wash, as is the style of Georgian era tea sets.

The set is without monograms or presentation engravings.

The teapot is 5 1/2” (14cm) high.

The hot water pot is 9 3/4” (24.8cm) high.

1909.8 grams total weight.
