Elegant Georgian inspired sterling silver tea set, English hallmarks for London 1919.  From the prolific silversmiths Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co. Ltd., of Regent St. London, England *.  The generously proportioned set is styled in the manner of English silver teapots of 1810–20, with gadrooned rims and acanthus leaf decorated handles on the cream jug and sugar bowl.  The set is crested with a fire basket / beacon on a tripod stand with the motto “Ever Vigilant” on a scroll beneath.  The motto is associated with different branches of the armed forces in both Great Britain and the United States.  The set is in very fine condition.

The teapot is 6 1/4” (15.9cm) high at the finial and 11” (28cm) across the spout to handle.
