Rosenthal Studio-Linie/Line “Mondial Plus Orange”, Designed by Karnagel

Vintage Rosenthal Studio-Linie (Line) porcelain tea and coffee service for 10.  The pattern is “Mondial”, shape “Plus”, designed by Wolf Karnagel * in 1969, in production 1970-77.   

The set consists of a teapot, coffee pot, creamer, covered sugar, tray and 10 cups & saucers.  The set is in excellent condition.

The teapot is 6 1/2” (16.5cm) high.

The coffee pot is 8” (20.3cm) high.

The tray is 12 1/4” (31cm) by 9 3/4” (24.8cm).

The cups are 2 3/4” (7cm) high, 3” (7.6cm) diameter.

$1800 for the set.

* Wolf Karnagel (born 1940 Hailing, Germany) studied at the Hochschule der Kunst (School of Art) in Brunswick, Germany.  Karnagel has designed lines of glassware, porcelain and flatware for German design firms, notably Rosenthal from the late 1960’s on.  Karnagel’s designs for Rosenthal, including this pattern are included in the Victoria & Albert Museum (South Kensington London) collections of ceramics, room 139.
