Wedgwood Japanesque Bone China Tea Set circa 1890s

Product Details

Victorian Wedgwood Bone china tea set, in the Japanesque style, also known as the Aesthetic Movement.  The set is octagonal in shape, with Imari inspired rust red florals against a background of alternating gold and cream colour panels.  The overall design is heavily gilded and the vibrant cobalt blue element is striking.  Made in England, circa 1891-1900, with a painted pattern number on the bottom of most pieces, # 11817.

The set is comprised of:

1 teapot

2 cream jugs (one with a repaired handle)

1 covered sugar bowl

5 teacups & 6 saucers.

The teapot is 8” (20.3cm) by 4 1/2” (11.4cm), 4 1/8” (10.5cm) high.

The teacup is 2 1/4” (5.7cm) high, 2 7/8” (7.3cm) diameter at the rim.

The saucer is 5 1/2” (14cm) diameter.

$1695 for the set.
