William IV Assembled Tea & Coffee Set, London 1834

Product Details

A William IV assembled four piece sterling silver tea and coffee set, English hallmarks for London 1834.  The pattern matching is remarkable in that all four pieces are the same pattern and date, from different silversmiths.  The simple shape is decorated only with banding at the middle, elaborate floral finials and shell motif bracket feet.

The teapot is from the silversmith Jonathan Hayne and is crested with an upright thrusting arm holding a battle axe.

The coffee pot is from the silversmith John Evans II and is crested with a rampant fox.

The cream jug and open sugar bowl are from the silversmiths Richard Pearce & George Burrows and are not crested.

The teapot is 6 1/4” (15.9cm) high.

The coffee pot is 9 1/4” (23.5cm) high.

2090.9 grams total weight.

$9800 for the four piece set.
