Product Details

William IV three piece sterling silver tea set, English hallmarks for London 1830/31, made by the silversmith William Hunter II.  His trademark was first used circa 1798.

The teapot and cream jug are dated 1831 and the sugar bowl is dated 1830.

The set is richly decorated with panels of floral and foliage in relief against a stippled background, heavily cast floral rims and finials and shell form bracket feet.  The cream jug and sugar bowl interiors have the original gilding.  The set is monogrammed with the letter “B” in Old English Script.

The set consists of a teapot, cream jug and open sugar bowl.

There is minor wear, consistent with age and use.

The teapot is 5 1/2” (14cm) high at the handle, 11” (28cm) across the spout to handle.
