Victorian Papier-Mâché Tea Caddy, circa 1850

Product Details

Victorian papier-mâché tea caddy.   Decorated on the scalloped edge top and three sides with Mother of Pearl inlay in the form of floral sprays, with hand painted and gilded detail.  The interior has two metal foil lined compartments with the highly ornamented gilded decoration on the lids intact.  English, circa 1850.

5 3/4” (14.6cm) by 9” (22.9cm), 4 3/4” (12cm) high.
