Art Nouveau sterling silver tea strainer, made by Simpson, Hall, Miller & Co. of Wallingford, Connecticut, circa 1900.  The knight’s head trademark was first used by S,H,M & Co. to mark their sterling silver items in 1895, with factories in both Wallingford, Connecticut and in Montreal, Canada.  In 1898 S,H,M & Co, became part of the International Silver Co., continuing to produce with their own trademark.
