Edwardian Sterling Silver Pedestal Rose Bowl / Presentation Bowl, Atkin Brothers, Sheffield 1902

Product Details

Antique English sterling silver pedestal rose bowl / presentation bowl, hallmarked Sheffield 1902.  Made by the prolific silversmith firm of Atkin Brothers, of Truro Works, Matilda Street, Sheffield England, in business from 1853 until being absorbed into C.J. Vander Ltd. in 1958. 

The bowl is elaborately chased and engraved with flowers, foliage and scrolling leaves, raised on a pedestal foot decorated with an egg and dart border.  The crimped rim is a sumptuous detail, showcasing the original gold washed interior.  The bowl has two cartouches, one with a stylized monogram of the super imposed capital letters M and F with the reverse side left blank, suitable for a contemporary monogram or presentation.
