Spode Fortuna Golf Tankard, circa 1955

Vintage Copeland Spode tankard, “Fortuna” pattern K931  in sage green and cream.  Made by Spode of England, 1955-60.  The tankard depicts two scenes from a game of golf: a golfer taking a shot with a caddie watching and a caddie holding a bag of clubs on the reverse.  The Fortuna series was designed primarily with hunting and tavern scenes with the handle of this tankard fashioned as a riding whip and was not changed when the scenes changed to golf.  Trademark stamped COPELAND SPODE ENGLAND and 55.  The tankard is in very good condition and a superb for the vintage golf enthusiast or a trophy for your next tournament.
