Sterling Silver Governor General of Canada, Lord Tweedsmuir Curling Trophy, Presented 1940

Product Details

Art Deco sterling silver curling trophy, English hallmarks for Sheffield 1937 and presented in 1940.  From the prolific silversmiths Mappin & Webb of Royal Cutlery Works, Norfolk Street, Sheffield.

The trophy is engraved on the front:

a 5 point coronet over an old English “T”, Lord Tweedsmuir, Governor General of Canada, with two columns of names on either side,

H.F. Gorrie.                            J.G. Evel.

R.S. Stone.                             W.A. Kennedy.

H.A. MacLennan.                   B.R. Eyres.

A.D. Somerville.                     H.G. Smith.
