Sterling Silver Toronto Hunt Trophy Dated 1910

Product Details

Sterling silver fox hunt trophy, from the Toronto Hunt Masters Cup, hallmarked Birmingham 1910.   The trophy cup was made in England by the silversmith firm of William Hutton & Sons Ltd. of West Street, Sheffield, Hanley Street, Birmingham and Farringdon Road, London, England.

The cup was presented by George W. Beardmore MFH (Master of Foxhounds) *

The cup is engraved on the front:

And is without engraving on the reverse side.

10 1/2” (26.6cm) high, 4 1/4” (10.8cm) diameter at the rim.

* George W. Beardmore (1854-1931) was born in Hamilton, ON was a successful business man from a leather / tannery background.  In 1893 Beardmore was elected president of the Club as well as holding the title Master of the Foxhounds until 1930.

** The Toronto Hunt Club was established in 1843 in Scarborough Heights, on the east side of Toronto, present day Kingston Road area and moved to Beardmore’s rural property in Aurora in 1931, the present day Beacon Hall Golf Club property.
