Victorian silver plate figural rowing trophy, made by Meriden Silver Plate Co. of Meriden Conn., circa 1880-90.  The trophy cup is in the form of a goblet, with the central stem consisting of a child in a sailor’s outfit in front of an anchor with a braided rope and two rowing paddles, on a pedestal base rising from four bracket feet.  The upper rim and base are further decorated with a flower and leaf band in the style of the Aesthetic Movement.  Trademarked on the inside bottom:  Meriden Silver Plate Co Quadruple Plate in a circle, around a lion rampant.

Minor wear, consistent with age and use.

11 3/4” (29.8cm) high, 5” (12.7cm) diameter at the rim.
