Antique Sterling Silver Presentation Cup

Product Details

Antique sterling silver presentation cup, hallmarked for London in the period of 1822-33.  The silversmith is J E Terrey & Co. (John Edward Terry) of London, England.  J E Terrey & Co. worked in the period of 1821-47.  The hallmarks are slightly rubbed but it has the duty marks of either George IV or early William IV.

The cup is decorated with a three dimensional applied grape and leaf motif at the rim and the foot.  The base of the bowl of the cup is ornamented with acanthus leaves in vertical ribbing.  The interior has a gold wash.

8 3/4” (22.3cm) high, 6” (15.2cm) diameter at the rim.

The cup was presented in 1872.  The presentation reads as follows:
