Charles A. Hannaford * water colour of St. Paul’s Cathedral London, painted from the Thames river.  The composition depicts smaller boats moored in the foreground, painted in dark reds and blues, with St. Paul’s Cathedral in the background, depicted bathed in light.  The painting is behind glass in the original gilded wood frame.

* Charles Arthur Hannaford (1887-1972) is the son of Charles Edward Hannaford (1863-1955), both accomplished water colourists who specialized in marine scenes.  Father and son were born in England and both were members of the Royal Society of British Artists.  Charles Hannaford Jr. was elected as a member of the RBA in 1916.
