Miniature cold painted bronze figural group of a cat and dog playing chess.  The chess players are perched on upholstered chairs with a mouse looking on, all gathered on a colourful Turkish rug.  One corner of the carpet is turned over, adding to the whimsy of the scene.

Impressed signature on the base:  BERMANN WIEN  FB

Made by the Vienna Bronze / Wiener Bronzen foundry, established in 1850 in Vienna, Austria.
