KPM porcelain reticulated centrepiece pedestal bowl, Germany, early 20th century.

Decorated with mould relief forget-me-not flowers on the basket and garlands of greenery on the pedestal, with hand painted butterflies and insects inside the bowl and at the base.  Gilded outlining throughout.  There is one small chip on the base; wear consistent with age and use.

The base of the pedestal is marked with the KPM under glaze blue sceptre mark.

KPM, or Königliche Porzellan Manufaktur, or “Royal Porcelain Factory” in English, is Berlin’s oldest porcelain factory and Germany’s second oldest. It was founded in 1763 and continues to produce porcelain to this day.
