Product Details

Otto Planding oil on board painting of a lake scene, circa 1950.  Otto Planding (1887-1964) was born in Germany and studied at the Munich Academy of Art before emigrating to Canada circa 1912/13.  Planding chose to live simply in Toronto, spending as much time as possible painting the rugged beauty of the Canadian wilderness, especially Georgian Bay, the Muskokas and the Rockies.

The painting is in the original frame by Briggs’s of Hayter Street, Toronto, near Bay and Gerrard Streets.

The painting is 12” (30.5cm) by 9” (22.8cm).

In the frame is 16 3/4” (42.6cm) by 13 3/4” (35cm).
