Risler & Carre of Paris, early 20th century.  Andre Risler & Georges Carre established their business at Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore, Paris in 1897.  They were known for fine craftsmanship in their silver and jewellery, winning awards at the Paris World Exhibition in 1900 and being one of only six French silversmiths invited to exhibit at the Saint Louis (Missouri, USA) World Fair in 1904.   Risler’s early death at only the age of 43 in 1906 led to the eventual closure of the business in 1912.
