Substantial figural cast iron andirons, in the form of Hessian soldiers.  North American origin, 19th century.  The paint shows wear but is still bright, especially on the soldiers dashing red coats.

Each andirons is 19” (48.2cm) high, 9” (22.9cm) wide, 22” (55.9cm) deep.
