Large Victorian sterling silver mounted Controlled Bubbles inkwell, circa 1900.

Stamped Sterling and  G  J, the trademark for Goodnow & Jenks of Boston, Mass.  Goodnow & Jenks were established in 1893, successors to Kennard & Jenks, in business until 1904/5.

The cover is beautifully engraved with scrolling flora and fauna and the original monogram “MLMB” in Script.

Note:  The inkwell is almost clear in colour but picks up the colours around it.

4 3/4” (12.1cm) high, 4 3/4” (12.1cm) diameter.
