Art Nouveau Gorham Silver Overlay Cranberry Glass Scent Bottle

Art Nouveau cranberry glass and silver overlay scent bottle, made by Gorham Manufacturing Company of Providence, Rhode Island , circa 1905.  The scent bottle is of a substantial size, made of a deep red cranberry glass with heavy silver overlay.  The bottle has a 2” diameter blank shield, suitable for a monogram or presentation engraving.   The silver frame is identified with the impressed marks:  D945 (a design reference number) and the symbols for a lion, anchor and an Old English “G”; the Gorham trademarks.

The stopper and bottle are identified on the bottom by the numbers 103, signifying that the stopper was hand cut to fit this specific bottle.  It is in excellent condition.
