Gorham Sterling Silver Ice Tea Spoons / Straws, English Import Marks 1907

Product Details

Opulent Edwardian era sterling silver ice tea spoons / straws, made by Gorham Manufacturing * of Rhode Island, with English import marks for Birmingham 1907.  The set of 6 is in the original fitted box of the retailer Edward & Sons of Glasgow. **

The bowl of the spoon is gold washed, front and back.

Impressed marks 1445H, STERLING SILVER, G.M.Co (Gorham) and the English import mark and date for Birmingham 1907.

The spoons are in very good condition and the box shows minor wear, consistent with age and use.

The spoons are 6 1/2” (16.5cm) long.

The box is 8” (20.3cm) by 6 3/4” (17.1cm), 1 3/8” (3.5cm) high.

$1800 for the set.

* The American company Gorham established a presence (by import) in England in 1894 and started producing silver in England in 1909, leaving the country at the start of WW1 in 1914.

** Edward & Sons of 92 Buchanan St., Glasgow was bestowed the title “By Special Royal Warrants to His Majesty the King and the Prince of Wales.
