Birks sterling silver box with cedar lining, suitable for a desk or dressing table.  Made and retailed by Birks (Henry Birks & Sons) of Montreal, Canada, with the Birks date letter for 1959.  The elegantly simple design is decorated only with a presentation engraving, which reads as follows:
