Elaborate 800 Fine Silver Centrepiece Basket

Substantial 800 Fine Silver basket with glass lining.  Trademarked with the crescent and crown silver mark used in Germany post 1888, also marked 800 indicating the fineness of the silver.

The basket is elaborately decorated with garlands of roses, smaller baskets with gardening tools and finely modelled rams heads, against a trellis form background.  The hinged handle is firm and will stay upright on its own.  The basket has three oval cartouches suitable for engraving, a larger one on the handle and two smaller ones on either side of the pedestal base.  The interior of the silver basket is gold washed and the glass liner is in mint condition.
