English Art Deco Sterling Silver Box Dated 1929

English Art Deco sterling silver box with cedar lining.  Suitable for a desk or dressing table, for him or her.  Fully hallmarked for London 1929. 

The engine turned engraved cover is nicely framed by a scrolling vine border, with a central oval with the original owner’s monogram “C.S.D.”, within another scrolling vine border.

The box shows minor wear, consistent with age and use.

6 1/4” (15.9cm) by 3 1/8” (8cm), 2” (5.1cm) high.  The cover is slightly domed.
