English Art Deco Sterling Silver Signatures Box

Product Details

A most unusual English Art Deco sterling silver box personalized with engraved signatures.  The box is cedar lined and the inside of the cover is satin finished gold washed.  The box is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1933, made by William Neale & Son Ltd. of Warstone Lane and Cox Street, St. Paul’s, Birmingham.  The box is further identified as being made for retail by Birks Ellis Ryrie Ltd, of Toronto, Canada.  

The box has a stylized monogram “AGW” in a circle on the cover which would be the initials of the original recipient.  The box is covered in names engraved in the style of signatures on the cover, front and both sides.  Perhaps it was a corporate gift from all the coworkers upon AGW’s retirement?
