English sterling silver box with cedar lined interior.  Fully hallmarked for London 1901, from the silversmiths Hewson & Williams.  

The slightly domed cover is crested with a rampant gryphon and the interior of the cover has the original gold wash in very good condition.

An excellent gift idea for a desk or dresser!
