English Sterling Silver Monteith Pedestal Bowl Dated 1883

Victorian sterling silver Monteith pedestal centrepiece bowl, hallmarked for London 1883.   From the silversmith firm of Charles Stuart Harris, in business circa 1852-1916.  

This exuberantly decorated pedestal bowl has a castellated rim featuring masks and a fluted body on a pedestal base.  The oval medallion is engraved:

presented to honour their 25th anniversary in 1938.

The engraving could be removed.

6 1/2” (16.5cm) high, 7 1/4” (18.4cm) diameter.
