Tiffany & Co. sterling silver rotary telephone dialers, circa 1940s.  What vintage fun!  Rotary telephone dialers were a popular gift item, designed to maintain a lady’s manicure in the days before keypad telephones.  This is the very item referenced in the iconic 1962 film “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” starring Audrey Hepburn.

Both telephone dialers are marked:  TIFFANY & CO.  STERLING  M

The stylized M indicates that the ashtrays were made during the directorship of John c. Moore, 1907-47.
