Early Victorian Sterling Silver And Glass Salt Cellars, circa 1844

Product Details

Impressive early Victorian sterling silver and glass salt cellars.  English hallmarked London 1844, from the father and son silversmiths Joseph Angell I and Joseph Angell II.  Their partnership is from a relatively short time period, 1840-48.

The heavy cast basket form pedestal salt dishes have masks incorporated into the design, rising from a square base.  The overall design is organically inspired with textured leafy vines growing up a trellis.  The original cut and frosted glass inserts have a pie crust rim.  The set is in remarkable condition!

3” (7.6cm) high, 4” (10.2cm) diameter.

528.6 gram total on the silver frames.

$3995 for the set of 4.
