Edwardian Silver Plate Sugar Castor

Product Details

Edwardian era silver plate sugar castor, made in England early 20th century.  The sugar castor was made by Cardinal Plate, a division of Northern Goldsmiths, founded in 1892 by Thomas Cooke.  The Patent No. 408295 dates the design registration of this piece in 1903.

It is a most unusual design; an elongated egg shape raised on tripod feet, with the push button on the top releasing the sugar from the bottom.  It is in very good condition with very minor wear only to the silver plating.

5 1/2” (14cm) high, 2 1/2” (6.3cm) diameter at the widest.
