George III sterling silver salver, hallmarked for London 1791. By the prestigious silversmith firm of Henry Chawner, through which partnerships overtime became Barnard & Sons.
This elegant tray is decorated with an applied bead trim on the rim and rises from three bracket style feet, also with bead trim. The surface of the tray is without ornament to proudly display a family crest of a forearm tightly gripping holly leaves, rising from a coronet. The back of the tray is engraved with the original owners initials, RJEM in script.
