Mid century modern sterling silver salad servers, made for Sanborns in Mexico City.

Trademarked D.F Hecho en Mexico (Distrito Federal, the federal district of Mexico City and made in Mexico), Sanborns Mexico Sterling.

Sanborns  opened as a pharmacy in 1903 by two American brothers from California, Walter and Frank Sanborn.  By the 1920s the business had evolved into a luxury restaurant, confectionery and gift shop.  Throughout the 20th century jewellery, fine gifts and table wares were made exclusively for Sanborns to retail.

The fork is 10 1/4” (26cm) long.

The spoon is 10 3/4” (27.3cm) long.
