Product Details

Elkington & Co. silver plate soup tureen, dated 1845.  The tureen is an oval melon form, topped with a ripe pomegranate finial.

Elkington developed their own date cyphers in 1841, emulating the British hallmark system of dating sterling silver to the year.  The number “5” in a diamond dates this piece to 1845.

The tureen is beautifully crested on both sides.

16” (40.7cm) by 10” (25.5cm), 10” (25.5cm) high.
