Monumental Limoges porcelain tureen and stand, made in France, mid-20th century.

Elaborately decorated with panels of floral sprays and exotic birds, framed with gilded borders, rims and handles, on a deep maroon-red ground.  The tureen was made on a grand scale and also suitable for a large centrepiece / floral arrangement.  

The tureen is 15 1/2” (39.4cm) across the handles by 8 1/2” (21.6cm).

The stand is 18 1/2” (47cm) by 11 5/8” (29.5cm).
