Victorian silver plate figural spoon warmer, English, circa 1870-1883.
The spoon warmer is in the form of a nautilus shell with a hinged cover, resting on a stylized dolphin pedestal, on an oval base with four pad feet.
Trademarked on the base EPNS W & D S in a shield,
for Electro Plate Nickel Silver, Wilson & Davis Sheffield. The partnership of Frederick Wilson and William Davis was registered at Hatton Works, Eyre St., Sheffield and 10 Hatton Garden, London, circa 1870. Their partnership was dissolved in 1883, after which becoming Frederick Wilson & Co.
Wear consistent with age and use.
