Product Description

Substantial Delft blue and white faience ginger jar, made in the 20th century by Royal Sphinx of Holland.  The company was established by Petrus Regout in 1834 in Maastricht, Holland, receiving its “Royal” designation in 1960.

The ribbed shape provides a textured surface that catches the light on the blue on cream surface.  The lid features a Fu dog finial, made in a traditional Chinese style.

The ginger jar can also be used without the lid as a vase for a large floral arrangement.

17 1/4” (43.8cm) high, 9” (22.8cm) diameter at the widest.
