Stunning Dresden coffee set with dejeuner tray, made for Ryrie Brothers Ltd. of Toronto Canada, circa 1910. The French Empire inspired set is heavily gilded with laurel wreath motifs and banding; the coffee pot and cups with vertical bands and the dejeuner tray and saucers with bands radiating from the center, on cream coloured porcelain. The set was made by Dresden of Germany for retail by Ryrie Brothers Ltd. of Toronto. Ryrie was partnered with Birks in 1905 but continued to use their own name until 1914, after which the company was trademarked as Ryrie-Birks. The set is in excellent condition. The coffee pot is 8 1/8” (20.6cm) high. The dejeuner tray is 14 1/4” (36.2cm) diameter. The cups are 2 1/8” (5.4cm) high, 2 3/8” (6cm) diameter. The saucers are 4 5/8” (11.7cm) diameter. $3600 for the set.
