Product Description

Ecanada Art Pottery vase in blue and white, Hamilton, ON, Canada, circa 1930-40s.

Decorated with lion mask handles, a band of laurel leaves and acanthus leaves.

10” (25.4cm) high, 6 3/4” (17.2cm) diameter at the widest.

Ecanada Art Pottery was founded by George Emery Sr. (1881-1959) in the 1920s while he was employed by the Canadian Porcelain Company.  Mr. Emery had apprenticed at the age of 12 at the Wedgwood Pottery in Staffordshire, England.  His designs were inspired by his time at Wedgwood and the similarity to Jasperware is evident.

The company was taken over by George Emery Jr. in 1949 and closed circa 1952.
