Edwardian era sterling silver asparagus tongs, English hallmarks for Sheffield 1902. From the prolific workshops of the Atkin Brothers who were a multi-generation silversmithing family from Sheffield, in business circa 1853 to 1958.
The tongs have a substantial weight and are beautifully embellished with floral scrolling and bright cut engraving on either end of the classic Kings pattern raised shell design on the handles. The bend in the handle has a bright cut engraved framed space which is blank and suitable for a presentation engraving.
