Edwardian Sterling Silver Picture Frame, Chester 1905

Antique Edwardian era English sterling picture frame, hallmarked Chester 1905.  Made by the silversmith firm of J & R Griffin (Joseph & Richard Griffin) of Hylton Street and Link Works, Soho Hill, Birmingham, in business circa 1896-1926.

The elaborately floral decorated picture frame has two central blank cartouches, suitable for engraving.  The back of the frame has the original dark blue velvet, in good condition.

The overall dimensions are 8” (20.3cm) high, 7 1/4” (18.4cm) wide.

The internal frame diameter is 3 7/8” (9.8cm).
