Product Description

English sterling silver footed basket, hallmarked for Sheffield 1922.

The silversmith company is Harry Atkins/Atkin Brothers who were established in the mid 18th century.

The bowl is of a slightly bulbous rectangular form, rising from four bracket feet.  The pierced design near the rim, the refined engraved scroll beneath and the gentle shape of the feet all demonstrate a subtle, late Art Nouveau influence.
