English sterling silver golf trophy, hallmarked Sheffield 1913 and presented in 1947. Made by the prolific silversmiths Harrison Brothers & Howson (George Howson) of Norfolk and Carver Streets, Sheffield, England. The large goblet form trophy is engraved: PRESENTED TO ERNEST S. HAMILTON * HONOURED GUEST SPORTSMENS ASSOCIATION of MONTREAL INC. GOLF TOURNAMENT 1947
10 1/4” (26cm) high, 5 1/4” (13.4cm) diameter at the rim. 419.2 grams. $2800.
* Ernest Samuel Hamilton (1883-1964) was a Canadian Olympian. He was involved in many sports including rugby, lacrosse and hockey.
