Georgian inspired sterling silver candlesticks; English hallmarks for Birmingham 1924. From the silversmiths Ellis & Co. (Ellis Jacob Greenberg) of Empire Plate Works, Hall Street, Birmingham. The company was taken over by Barker Brothers circa 1931/2 to become Barker Ellis Silver Co. The candlesticks are designed with gently tapered columns rising from stepped bases. Complete with the original hallmarked bobeches. A graceful and well-proportioned pair, ideal for shabbat sticks or a wedding gift! 9 7/8” (25cm) high, 4 3/4” (12cm) diameter at the base. $1695 for the pair.
