Product Description

English sterling silver trophy cup, hallmarked Sheffield 1923.  From the prolific workshops of the Atkin Brothers who were a multi-generation silversmithing family from Sheffield, in business 1853-1958.  The Neoclassical designed trophy cup is made in the style of a Georgian era “cup and cover”, popular in the 1770s as an ornamental mantle or table garniture.  The trophy is decorated with multiple garlands and wreaths of stylized acanthus leaves, with a flame finial cover.  The trophy has a blank roundel on both sides, suitable for a monogram or presentation engraving.

9 3/4” (24.7cm) high, 6 1/8” (15.5cm) across the handles.
